FIRST DREAMNIGHT EVER IN A SWIMMING-POOL

Friday June 11 was the first Dreamnight ever in a swimming-pool. The AGO swimming-pool in Diemen (the Netherlands) is a swimming-pool that has been specificially designed for seriously ill people and those with multiple disablilities. The Dreamnight had been organized in collaboration with "De Belevenis", which is also a project for the same target-group. The whole building had been decorated and both inside as outside various activities were offered to the enthusiastic VIP guests. There was also plenty of food, drinks and candy.

WORLDPREMIERE  "DREAMNIGHT AT THE THEATER"

Theater "De Meerpaal" in Dronten (the Netherlands) was the first theater in the world that organized  a Dreamnight... and it was great....!

There was plenty to do for the families that has been invited... there was even food and drinks.

The families enjoyed everything the theater offered.

We truly hope that this example will be followed by many theaters worldwide....

Royal Decoration

Thursday, April 29th was a special day for Hanck van Bakergem: From the hands of the Mayor of Rotterdam, Mr. Ing. Ahmed Aboutaleb, he received a Royal Decoration for the Voluntary work that he has done over the past 40 years and still does.

"Sir" Hanck was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau.

Dreamnight project: 15th aniversary...

This year it is exactly 15 years ago that the dreamnight-project was born. The night was called Sophia Childrens Night, because this first edition was ment for children of the Sophia's Children Hospital in Rotterdam - The Netherlands.. 175 very ill children came with their parents and siblings.... all together some 750 special guests.

In 2002, when we welcomed our first partners outside the Netherlands, we introduced the international name "Dreamnight at the Zoo". We also introduced a logo which is now famous all around the world: the girl in the wheelchair who makes contact with an elephant (see underneeth this page)...

From the year 2004 we also got other partners (attraction parks, museums a.s.o.) and we build a new division with their own logo: the same girl in the wheelchair who receives a present from  our own Dreamnight-clown  Okkie.... (the dreamnight IS a present for the children and their parents...)

New Logo for the Dreamnight...

The two logos with the girl in the wheelchair (by the way.... her name is Denise) will always remain: on flags, T-shirts and so on, ...... We are very proud of our logos who really are worldfamous. There are over 200 flags in 36 countries on ALL continents...!!!

However.... we are very pleased that we now also have a logo for ALL our partners... zoo or no zoo. It is in black and white so it will be cheaper to print it on various articles.  The circle symbolises our planet earth, because we are active on all continents. The word "night" is symbolised by three stars and three moons who together form a smiling face.... Please remember that all three logos are protected by law.... so you have to ask our permission (e-mail: info@dreamnightatthezoo.nl) to use them....
